Optum (UnitedHealth Group subsidiary) launched an AI platform automating coding, clinical documentation review, and claims billing. Pilot showed 20%+ coding productivity increase. This is the same UHC that denies 33% of in-network claims now selling AI to the providers fighting those denials.
UnitedHealthcare's ACA marketplace denial rate dropped from 34.2% to 19.1% across 6.4M claims. Oscar Health climbed to 25.3% (highest among major nationals). Overall ACA initial denial rate rose to 11.81%.
