Under the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule, impacted payers (MA organizations, Medicaid, CHIP, QHP issuers) must publicly report aggregated prior authorization metrics from the previous year on their websites by March 31, 2026. This is the first time payer PA approval/denial rates will be publicly visible in standardized format. The 72-hour expedited / 7-day standard PA response time mandate has been in effect since January 1, 2026.
